“Aamal establishes a new joint venture with Johnson Controls”
Doha, 7 June 2011 -Aamal Company Q.S.C. (“Aamal”), one of Qatar’s largest and fastest growing companies,has signed a shareholder agreement with Johnson Controls Inc. to establish Johnson Controls Qatar, a new operations and maintenance and energy solutions company in Qatar.

The new joint venture, with a shareholding of 51% and 49% split between Aamal and Johnson Controls Inc.,will provide facility improvement and energy solutions to customers in Qatar. Its services will comprise of ‘Total Building Operations and Maintenance’services, including energy audits and additional energy efficiency solutions.
Globally, Johnson Controls is involved in more than 500 renewable energy projects reducing CO² emissions by 13.6 million metric tons and generating savings of $7.5 billion since 2000. Many of the world’s largest companies rely on Johnson Controls to create business advantages through tailored solutions that optimise real estate and energy performance while reducing total occupancy costs. Additionally, Johnson Controls manages 1.5 billion square feet of commercial real estate through its workplace solutions business.
‘Total Building Operation and Maintenance’is an emerging sector in Qatar and Aamalexpects strong demand for the services offered by Johnson Controls Qatar.
His Excellency Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of Aamal commented:
